Body Rock is a workshop designed to explore what a high-octane improv show can be. Through fast-paced scenes, physical expression, active object work, and full-body commitment, we’ll push ourselves to stop holding back and start playing with everything we’ve got.

Explore the joy of throwing yourself fully into a scene, getting out of our heads, enjoying the moment, and experiencing improv with our whole bodies.

We’ll discover what it feels like to give it all on stage and, just as importantly, how to harness and shape that energy for the different kinds of shows we want to perform.

What you'll work on

  • Full-body expression: Using our whole bodies to bring scenes, characters, and environments to life.
  • Kinetic energy: Exploring how movement, physical commitment, and dynamic choices can engage and electrify an audience.
  • Conducting the tempo: Learning to control the rhythm, pace, and intensity of a scene, knowing when to accelerate, slow down, or let a moment breathe.
  • Harnessing the chaos: Building the confidence to make bold physical choices while staying connected to our scene partners and the story we're telling.

Who this is for

This workshop is for improvisers with some experience who want to get out of their heads and into their bodies. Whether you want to bring more physicality to your scenes, break out of familiar habits, or explore a more energetic performance style, Body Rock is an invitation to take up space, push your limits, and play bigger.

Eoin O'Sullivan

Eoin is an improviser, Radio/Podcast presenter, and audio producer. Through ten years of experience performing across Australia and Europe. Eoin has honed his storytelling skills on stage and on Mic.
